The magic of making up is actually 3 e-books that give a well thought out step by step system for getting an ex significant other back after a breakup. The author, T. W. Jackson does not have any formal training in counseling or relationships but instead draws on his personal experiences from his own relationships but also his experience in dealings with people in professional settings.
You may think that is not very impressive and that most people have been in and out of relationships so what makes him such an authority on mending a broken relationship? The techniques he employs in his book are based on psychology, human nature and the way we react to certain situations.
I have to hand it to him. He is quite cleaver and has really thought things through in coming up with his system of reconciling with an ex who has seemingly moved on.
I am not sure why he made The Magic of Making Up system into 3 books but they are:
Mind Magic
The Clean Slate Method and
The Magic of Making Up
Mind Magic – I can’t give away too much in this review as the T.W. Jackson’s system is proprietary but Mind Magic starts out with how to write a “magic” letter to your ex or cheating boyfriend in a way that lets them begin to miss you and want you again.
T.W. Jackson employs 6 psychological factors that make this magic letter extremely effective. He also teaches what he calls The Conscious Retraining Method in which he claims that “you can train anyone to act the way you want”. It is basically a carrot and stick technique that you can use to train your boyfriend to behave the way you want.
There is also a section on how to get anyone to return your call or text and another section on a powerful technique called “the Monkey Fist”. Sorry, you’re going to have to read the book.
The Clean Slate Method - is about making an apology for the rift in the relationship. It is not just any apology though. T. W. Jackson’s method of making an apology diffuses the situation without you having to take blame for what ever is causing the problem.
The Magic of Making Up – Is the meat of the system. This book consists of 8 chapters that gives a step by step method for getting your cheating boyfriend or ex back.
Chapter 1- Understanding why your relationship ended. If you are a woman and are saying “my boyfriend cheated on me” you must understand why he cheated. Of course you first must decide if he is even worth keeping and if you want to keep the relationship going.
T. W. Jackson helps provides and analysis of the male mind and reveals what men want out of a relationship. It is really quite simple and being male myself I have to say he is right on.
He also gives an analysis of what women want and why they cheat. Of course it is for a completely different reason than men as women have different needs and expectations in a relationship. When she feels she is not receiving them, she may end up with a man who is willing to give her what she wants.
Chapter 2 – Don’t Panic – When a couple breaks up one person may feel panicked and immediately call the other pleading out of desperation. Being desperate and needy does not look attractive. Panicking is the enemy. T.W. Jackson begins the framework that will lead you toward a successful reconciliation with your ex.
Chapter 3- Removing the splinter in your relationship- This chapter talks about how to pinpoint the problem with your relationship in the first place and also makes you reevaluate the relationship and determine if being in it is really the best for either of you.
Chapters 4 through 7- Are where the fun really begins because this is where Mr. Jackson lays out the actual plan for getting your ex back. This is very much a step by step approach with each step building on the other and utilizing the Mind Magic, Clean Slate Method and Monkey Fist techniques you learned about previously.
Chapter 8- When your relationship can’t be saved. Moving on with grace. The best laid plans do not always pan out and this chapter gives excellent advice on how to deal with a relationship that is truly over. If you do find yourself in this position, you will be more than prepared to deal with it as chapters 4 though 7 have been preparing you for this while planning the reconciliation at the same time.

What I did not like about The Magic of Making Up?
The only criticism I have about T.W. Jackson’s The Magic of Making up is in Chapter 4 where the author gives nutrition advice. Part of his strategy is about working on yourself including your health and physical well being. While that part of his strategy makes sense, the nutrition advice given is so basic that you probably are not learning anything that you do not already know. You are given advice like eat lean meat, fruits and vegetables and avoid junk food. If you really want worth while information you can use you would be better off going on Yahoo and reading the articles they regularly have on that subject.
While this is not a big deal and you can just skip over those parts if you like, I can’t help but fee that maybe he used those parts as filler to justify a higher price for his book.
What I really did like about The Magic of Making Up?
One of the integral parts of the Magic of Making Up system is for you to work on yourself. This includes emotionally working on your self esteem as well as your physical well being. The purpose is to make yourself attractive and interesting to your ex. This lets you work your strategy from a position of strength instead of desperation and weakness.
The other purpose is to help you become a stronger person in the event that the reconciliation was just not meant to be. While there is a very good chance that you will make up with your ex if you employ the Magic of Making Up system, if somewhere in the process you decide you would be better off with out him or her, you will come out a much stronger individual ready to meet the person you were meant to be with.
Overall what do I think?
Although T.W. Jackson has no formal credentials in the relationship field he is a well schooled student of human nature. If you step back and look at his Magic of making Up system, it is very logical and all makes perfect sense. You may even say why didn’t I think of that?
The problem is that when we are faced with a very emotional situation like a breakup, panic sets in and we just react without thinking things through. You may yell, accuse and blame your ex for the rift in the relationship which just makes things worse and possibly go past the point of no return. The Magic of Making Up is all about thinking things through so that you do not do or say something you will later regret.
Often times a relationship is salvageable if you use your head instead of your emotions. T. W. Jackson’s techniques are “stealth” techniques.
